Skincare Routines for Different Skin Types

Know Your Skin Type

Understanding your skin type is the first step to effective skincare. Different skin types require different approaches.

Oily Skin

Characterized by enlarged pores and a shiny appearance:

  • Use gel-based cleansers
  • Look for oil-free moisturizers
  • Use clay masks weekly
  • Don't skip moisturizer - dehydration can increase oil production

Dry Skin

Often feels tight and may have flaky patches:

  • Use cream-based cleansers
  • Apply rich, hydrating moisturizers
  • Incorporate hyaluronic acid
  • Avoid hot water when washing face

Combination Skin

Oily in T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) but dry elsewhere:

  • Use gentle, balanced cleansers
  • Apply different products to different zones
  • Consider multi-masking

Sun Protection for All

Regardless of skin type, always use SPF 30+ sunscreen daily. Sun damage is the leading cause of premature aging.
